The goAustria program offers participants a personal start-up mentor who will support you in validating your business model and connecting you with relevant stakeholders.

These Mentors are the USP of the program. They create a tailor-made internationalization strategy together with the start-ups and either come from a relevant field of studies or have excellent connections to the start-up ecosystem.

Christoph has a strong passion for IT and entrepreneurship, what is reflected in his career too. Before, while and after his studies at the Vienna University of Economi c(Bachelor of International Business with focus on Entrepreneurship an Innovations and Master in Strategy, Innovation and Management Control), he co-founded three startups with focus in the web and IT area. Beside his entrepreneurieal passion he also likes to pass his know-how (more than 10 years of experience in the field) to other startups  as mentor, speaker or advisor.

Bernhard is a biotechnology expert and entrepreneurial manager with long standing record in international life science biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. During his professional carrier he has been research scientist and manager in the life science industry sector in start-up and global biotech/pharmaceutical companies in Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Switzerland and Austria. He is founder and co-founder of biotech and life science start-up companies as well. With his organisation Biotechnology Consulting, he assists early stage life companies in their product development projects.

Dietmar looks back on 16 years of experiences in the IT field in diverse roles. He holds a Bachelor degree in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) & in Business Informatics (Economics) as well a higher college degree for data processing with a strong focus on B2B Sales & business models. Since 2004 he has founded two companies in the IT field, is shareholder of two companies and advisor to two tech foundations as well of the Austrian Incubator of the Vienna University of Technology.

Birgit is an advisory board member of AustrianStartups and co-initiator & steering committee member of the IEEE International Conference on Business Informatics. She has acted as an innovation scout and jury member repeatedly. Furthermore Birgit is responsible for the innovation center at the University of Technology in Vienna. What started with a supplementary curriculum on innovation for master students grew within three years to a cross-faculty Innovation Center offering different services for scientists. 

Bernhard is an entrepreneur and seasoned life science manager with over 20 years experience in pharma, medtech, biotech & health IT companies in national and global roles.

He brings in an extensive network in the life science industry and a clear understanding how to best manage the full life cycle from preincubation to commercialization.

Patrick holds a diploma of the Vienna University of Economics and Business in banking, corporate finance and security laws and worked many years in the investment area as well in software engineering services. Through this, he gained many experiences which provide him a strong technical and financial background and a very deep understanding of digital businesses, their needs and opportunities. 

Tanja is Managing Partner of Startup Live, the leading European Acceleration Program and one of the largest startup communities worldwide. She is responsible for helping founders implement their business ideas and connect them internationally with relevant players. Startups like Runtastic, Shpock, Codeship and mySugr are among the successful alumni of the program. Tanja also co-founded the initiative "Female Founders", a global network for female entrepreneurial minds offering regular meetups, an international mentoring program and its own acceleration program for (prospective) founders and female-led ventures. Jürgen has an extensive background in global companies such as Bacardi, L’Oréal and McDonald’s. He is an expert in marketing, press relations and business development and passionate about branding. After a sabbatical in Shanghai, where he connected with the local start-up scene, he is currently working on his own start-up and supports other start-ups to chase their dreams. Jürgen is also advisor at the Vienna-based Io2 Hub and works with IoT and smart technology start-ups on their positioning and market entry strategies.

He has a proven track record of over 15 years across the whole value chain. His last responsibility was as country Marketing Manager for the Austrian subsidiary of Ecolab Healthcare. Previously, he performed in marketing and management accounting for IT companies (Oracle and IBM), as well as in Life Sciences (Boehringer Ingelheim, JnJ). Florian’s area of expertise spans from quantitative strategy including developing the business model, targeting and pricing to execution by developing targets, KPIs, initiatives and automation. Clients value his holistic approach to measure rigorously marketing efforts for effectiveness and efficiency – following the rationale that you can only manage what you can measure.

Florian graduated with a double degree CEMS Master from the French elite university HEC Paris and the Vienna University for Economics and Business. Currently he teaches at the Innovation Incubation Programme of the Technical University of Vienna. He lives in Vienna and is fluent in French, English and German.

Entrepreneur, executive and investor with a track record of scaling businesses. 20 years experience in various industries, including renewable energy, clean tech, software & internet technologies and digital. Christoph also served on the Supervisory or Management Board at 10 VC backed companies like SolveDirect, an IT company providing cloud-based solutions for smart IT service management integration, Piano Media, Basemedia and FutureLab. He has in-depth knowledge of the investment landscape in Central and Eastern Europe, including Austria. 

Christoph´s educational background is a PhD degree in Finance. He also lectures post-graduate courses for new media at Modul University Vienna.

Daniel holds two master degrees, one in entrepreneurship and another in business informatics. While he worked for a big company in the ICT sector, he founded his company “Spoken Language System”, what brought him his first experiences of entrepreneurship. Today he is Managing Partner at CONDA, where he is its driving force in marketing and sales and of Startup Live but also he is a  member of the board at AustrianStartups, one of Austrias biggest startup communities.

Florian is a serial entrepreneur from Vienna. Two of his own startups have raised several million Euros from Angels and VCs in Europe and the USA, including Oliver Samwer (Rocket Internet). He lived in Copenhagen, Munich and Silicon Valley – and currently in Vienna.

Via his platform GetFunding.how, Florian has coached dozens of startup founders in 15 countries on fundraising, pitching and B2B sales in workshops, 1:1 coaching and online programs like the Fundraising Masterclass. 

He supports the innovation ecosystem by publishing the yearly Startup Report, hosting the “Startup Milestones” and the “Gründer & Zünder” podcasts, and teaching and talking at select conferences. In 2019 Florian has become known to a broader audience as the official pitch coach of the Austrian version of the TV show “Shark Tank”.

Stefan is a corporate finance professional with over 8 years of experience in the execution of structured investor processes. Before founding redtower ventures in 2014 he gained valuable expertise in Investment Banking (M&A) in Frankfurt and Vienna. He holds a masters degree in Finance & Accounting and spent his exchange semesters in Madrid, Spain as well as in Seoul, South Korea.

His main focus today is to support start-ups in fundraising, corporate development and strategic planning. Stefan has built a strong track record over the years and in 2017 he successfully executed one of the largest seed financing rounds of all time in Austria.

Elisaweta owns 8 years experience of international Executive Search and Business Coaching&Training expecially for the Life Science Industry. She is founder of in-spectum and advisor for the Life Sciences industry. Before her career in the coaching and advising sector, she successfully developed and launched own patented devices for drinking water analysis. As well she gained experiences in Sales, Key Account Management and Global Business Development in the Life Sciences Industry.

Before Herwig joined i5invest as CEO in 2015, he worked for PwC in the Deals Practice for over 10 years. In his current position Herwig leverages his experience in order to support IT / Tech companies in all company stages. Besides his work, he is a frequent speaker and trainer at Startup-, Tech- and Deals-conferences. Herwig graduated from the Vienna University of Economics and Business, holds a CEMS Master’s degree in International Management, and is currently enrolled in the Master program for Renewable Energy in CEE at the Vienna University of Technology.

Daniel has more than 19 years of experience in marketing and sales in several industries (e.g. advertising, healthcare, IT, media). As a "Lean Startup Evangelist"  and “Client Whisperer" Daniel’s focus is tracking and serving customers’ needs. 

Moreover as a good listener he is always eager to help and support teams, projects and companies in setting up a solid sales structure or developing new business fields. In further steps he assists the process of transformation from product-focused to sales-focused organisation and helps his clients to enter new markets by (co-)planning and also co-executing the right strategy and approach.

Before that he was 14 years in senior management and federal administration.

Klaus has more than 25 years experience in the Life Science/ Biotech area. Currently he is owner of Danube BioSolutions and is working as Interim Manager/ Freelancer for several companies. He is also supporting start-up companies. His expertise ranges from recombinant and plasmatic proteins, viral vaccines, and analytical methods, to the knowledge of applicable national and international GxP regulations.
